Students of fashion design and textile department of the Bhawanipur Gujarati Education Society College were definitely brimming with confidence on December 16 and 17, 2006.
They presented their creations at the Bhawanipur Fashionista '06, annual graduating show along with the collection from the National Institute of Fashion Technology.
Models Debbie, Pamela, Jessica, Priyanka Pal, Tanusree and others strutted on the ramp wearing different outfits based on different themes like Golden Tree, Attitude, X-Factor, Right Calories, Society Itch.
Students welcomed the winter with lots of trendy coats short and long and jackets with interesting embellishments were presented. Skirts, Loose trousers, churi pants and capris came in all forms.
Dresses with balloon hemlines and sexy necklines were also offered. Patchwork, jutework, funky trimmings, sequins, beads and intricate embroidery adorned clothes were appreciated by the audience.
Celebrities like designer Abhishek Dutta, Kolkata NIFT director Shantmanu, registrar Barnali Biswas, actress Rimjhim Mitra, Manop Mekprayoonthong, Consul General of Thailand in Calcutta were some of the members in the panel of judges.
The musical and colourful evening became more fascinating when Mumbai actress Tejaswini Kolhapure joined the show.
The 'best' in every category was awarded. The graduating show gave students a chance to showcase their creativity. It was a proud day for the students of Bhawanipur Gujarati Education Society College
