Delhiites appreciate north eastern states' handicraft

Every year when winter knocks Delhi's door, and Delhiites start enjoying exhibitions under the sun.
This year North Eastern Handicrafts and Handlooms Development Corporation Ltd and minister of textile have jointly organized exhibition of crafts from north eastern states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Sikkim and Tripura on the Bal Bhawan grounds.
This winter Mizo woven shawls, Assamese blankets and colourful bedspreads are eye catching and are hot favorite among the Delhiites.
Manipuri cotton sarees and dupattas in traditional weaves and flamboyant colours are getting special attention.
Numerous varieties of handmade cane baskets, trays, boxes, wall hangings, pen holders, cane bags, wine cases, jugs, mugs, dark cane lamps and boxes in geometrical sizes and shapes that are speciality of north east are showcased here.
Coloured bags with cane handles, stone jewelleries and metal artifacts are also displayed in this exhibition.
This year parents and children can come home with a smiling face, children can enjoy magical mirror of Bal Bhavan and parents can bring home north eastern handi work to decorate their home.
