In November 2006, yarn production of China's above-scale textile enterprises stood 1.57 million tons, representing an increase of 44,300 tons from last month, up 2.9 percent, and 15.1 percent higher from the same period last year.
From January to November 2006, China's total yarn output amounted to 15.53 million tons, up 20.2 percent over the corresponding time of prior year. In 2006 cotton year (Sept - November 2006), China's total yarn production registered 4.68 million tons, increasing 22.5 percent over the same period last year.
China's textile and apparel exports in November indicated a mild growth over the previous two months.
According to the statistics of the General Administration of Customs, in November 2006, China's textile and apparel exports reached about US $12.72 billion, an increase of 2.9 percent over last month, and up 30.67 percent from the same time last year.
Exports of textile yarns, fabrics and made-up products were $4.214 billion, up 18.14 percent over the same time last year.
Exports of garment and clothing accessories were $8.506 billion, rising 27.3 percent over the same time last year.
In January to November 2006, China's total textile and apparel exports reached about $130.645 billion, indicating a year-on-year increase of 24.66 percent.
Of which, exports of textile yarn, fabrics and made-up products were $44.361 billion, an increase of 18.17 percent over the same time lasted year.
Exports of clothing and clothing accessories were $86.283 billion, 28.28 higher from the same time last year.
