During this season, cotton output is expected to touch 25 million bales compared to previous record of 24.24 million bales in last season, industry sources informed.
With use of new variety of cotton, farmers were able to cultivate more cotton in last two years at cotton cultivation area of 8.9 million hectares of which 30 percent was under Bt cotton, they informed.
India has 25 percent of total world's cotton cultivation area but its share in global output is only 16 percent.
