Textile Industry Association recently held the first annual conference of industrial social responsibility in Beijing, '2006 annual conference of China's textile and garment industrial social responsibility', and issued the first annual report of manufacturing industries. Based on the theme of 'Building a responsible supply chain', the meeting invited representatives of all the stakeholders in the supply chain to exchange views through dialogues.
'2006 Annual Report on Social Responsibility of China's textile and garment industries,' is the first overall report on the situation of the development of corporate social responsibility, which is divided into five sections:
The first part discussed the basic concept of corporate social responsibility and its development in the country.
The second part studied the status, role and the major challenges of textile and garment industries in China's national economy and the international supply chain, as well as the affection of relevant policies on social responsibility performance of the industry;
Part three introduced the creation of social responsibility management system CSC9000T of Chinese textile enterprises and its main features, China Textile Industry Association, international exchanges and cooperation between relevant stakeholders;
The fourth part introduced the pilot projects under CSC9000T and major experience, upon which recommendations are made to all interested parties forimprovement;
The last part announced 2007 plans of China National Textile Industry Association to promote and build social responsibility.
