Pantaloon's subsidiary Future Bazaar India Limited started its retailing website futurebazaar.com on January 2, 2007.
According to Future Bazaar's Chief Executive Officer Sankarson Banerjee, customers can buy at lowest prices owing to company's vast supply chain and potential to source millions of items. This website is the only e-commerce portal having prominent presence offline.
Portal caters to over 1,500 towns and cities. Banerjee added that current online retail business stands at Rs180 crore per annum and it plans to reach Rs300 crores in the portal's first year only.
Futurebazaar.com sells 5,000 products listed under 185 categories now and many more products are being included on daily basis. Consumer durables, home décor, apparel, mobiles, watches and accessories with warranties are offered online, with home delivery facility.
