Hangzhou develops womens garment industrial clusters

In the last week of 2006, Japanese Iwada finally found a 'home' for his ladies garment shop in Evergreen market. Iwada said this was only the first step, and then he wanted to shift his production base in Japan into Hangzhou.
Facing a strong 'invasion' from foreign brands, many managers of Hangzhou ladies wear brands exclaimed, 'The wolf is coming.'
Many industrial experts believe that the entering of foreign ladies brands has greatly reflected the rapid growth of Hangzhou ladies wear industry in recent years, which shows strong adsorbing forces.
The original market was entirely occupied by Hangzhou ladies wear brands, now about 30 percent of market share is composed by ladies wear brands from other regions, even overseas brands traveled thousands of miles to require the entrance to the Ever-green market.
By 2010, there will be 4-6 Hangzhou women's wear enterprises with over one billion yuan of annual sales revenue, 15-20 enterprises with 0.3-1 billion yuan of annual sales revenue, 25-30 enterprises with 100 -300 million yuan of annual sales revenue. Industrial concentration will be further improved.
In the '10th Five-Year Plan' period, Women's Garment Industry showed a momentum of rapid development, growth rate at more than 150 percent.
Take industrial output for example, in 2001 the city's total women's wear industrial output value was 6.57 billion yuan, and by the end of 2005, ladies wear industrial output value soared to 16.99 billion yuan, over 2.5 times from five years ago.
