Spinning firms have blamed Pakistani Government for delaying relief package in accordance with National Textile Strategy Committee's proposal.
Scope of spinning in the country has been reduced by factors including non-tariff barriers for cotton trade, hike in interest rates, negligence in countering subsidies and incentives given by competitors, indirect duties along with export taxes on polyester products.
All Pakistan Textile Mills Association's (APTMA) Lahore Zone office invited APTMA members nationwide to a press conference for considering the delay issue and deciding next move.
If relief package is not provided soon to spinners, half of the spinning activities would come to a standstill. APTMA members are worried over the matter.
Association is upset over the Government's apathy, according to APTMA Chairman Shafqat Elahi.
