Design studios for innovation in textiles

Innovation has played an important role in development of textile industry but it was only after globalisation that it has become more organized with formation of design studios and innovation units for production units in present times.
Textile companies like Ashima limited, Jindal World Wide and S Kumar are in forefront to incorporate such specialized units and design studios for innovation.
Today competition is focused on value and services and so the need for design studios. Earlier competition took place on price, quality, manufacturing capacity and supply chain, said Shrikant Pareek, Vice President, Operations, Ashima limited.
Design Studios will be equipped with hi-tech computers and software for digital simulation to innovate and produce improved fiber, yarn, dyes, prints and finishes.
The designer team will produce engineered weave, fabric or design options through digital simulation and software like Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop, added Pareek.
