Le Quoc An, President of Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (Vitas), revealed that Ministry Of Trade (MOT) and General Custom would implement floor price on textile and apparel goods exports to US.
He also advised enterprises to produce products with higher value and should not entertain orders for low value products to protect industry from anti-dumping lawsuit.
This temporary measure is taken to protect textile and apparel industry from anti–dumping duty after becoming official member of WTO, industry experts opined.
In 2006, textile and apparel exports to US stood at about US $3.4 billion.
