In 2006, Vietnam earned EUR650 million from exports to Belgium, which has posted a 20 percent rise as compared to 2005, official sources from Ministry of Trade (MOT) said.
With this, Belgium has become the fifth biggest commercial partner of the country, accounting for 9 percent of whole commercial value between Vietnam and EU.
Major goods exported to Belgium include footwear, specious stone, apparel goods and woodworks, while Vietnam imported high quality steel from the country.
Belgian Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce (Beluxcham) in Vietnam has reported that in May this year a delegation from Flanders region would visit Vietnam to look for investment opportunities.
