A&E Lanka's satellite plant in Bangladesh is designed and operated along the same lines as the plant in Sri Lanka, and is considered one of the most environment-friendly manufacturing facilities in that country, Mr. Thassim said.
An ISO 14001-1996 Environmental Management System certified company, A&E Lanka is a joint venture of Brandix Lanka, American & Efird, a globally acclaimed leader in thread manufacture, and Brandot International.
A&E Lanka's manufacturing facility and dyeing house utilise a fully-integrated on-line computer network, and the entire manufacturing process is monitored by in-house laboratories governed by internationally established standards for production and quality.
As a member of Brandix Lanka, A&E Lanka subscribes to the parent group's vision 'to be The Inspired Solution for branded clothing' and produces an extensive range of sewing thread in 1050 standard colours and in dyed-to-order special colours to match individual customer requirements. The company is also the sole distributor for Lurex Metallic Thread in Sri Lanka and the region.
