Bremen Cotton Market - small turnovers

The course of business remained dull during the week under report. The local merchants reported several inquiries by the spinning mills; however, price negotiations were not successful in most cases because of different price ideas of seller and buyer.
The offering prices for new crop shipments from the countries of origin continued to be firm. Only low sales figures from merchants´ positions were registered for near deliveries. At the New York futures market electronic trading for cotton was launched on February 2nd, 2007.
In the Upland range were traded: Central Asian sorts for prompt and further in the 1st quarter 2007 and West African types for prompt and 1st / 2nd quarter 2007.
In the ELS/LS range contracts came to light in Egyptian GIZA 86 and USA Pima for delivery still in the 1st quarter 2007. From the Bremen spot stocks, one lot of Sudan Barakat was traded.
