Recently declared figures of Shenzhen city's export value of textile and apparel showed an increase of 178.65 percent for last year.
However, experts are of the opinion that such an increase in export value is shown by Government of Shenzhen to achieve quota extension of clothing exported to EU and US in 2007.
In China, allocation of quota is based on the previous year's performance of the city.
In 2006, export value of cotton trousers and cotton shirts were highest and most of the goods were exported to Bulgaria and Romania, both these countries joined EU on January 1, 2006.
Guangdong province, in which Shenzhen city is located, accounts for 40 percent of national textile quota.
