Bilateral trade volume between Brunei and China went up 20.7 percent to US $315 million in 2006.
Brunei mainly exports crude oil to China, while its imports comprise textiles, ICT products and construction materials. Co-operation between both nations is boosted by development in the energy sector.
First China education exhibition is to be arranged in Brunei during April 2007, also China will participate in a defense expo to be held in the country between May and June.
Both nations witnessed many high-level exchanges and visits during last year. Prince Mohamed, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, paid a visit to China in September 2006 and Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador of the Ministry, visited China in April.
During the Prince's visit, an MoU on tourism collaboration was inked between both countries to enhance bilateral trade.
