Paris' Porte de Versailles begun yesterday and is scheduled till 14 February, 2007 and has attracted a significant number of traders from around the world.

This is one of the most prominent platforms for domestic dealers from smaller countries like Thailand to make a mark on global arena.

Fashion stores like Kloset Red Carpet has finally established itself on local scale and after several years of traveling and displaying at international events, is slowing earning recognition as Thai fashion brand.

"It's unlikely that your collection will be bought during your first [fair] participation because buyers need to be ensured that you won't disappear after one year. You have to return two or three times," Owner Mollika Ruangkritya explained to the press.

Mollika added, “Kloset was founded in 2001. We went to the first fair in 2003 and now 40 per cent of our orders are from outside Thailand. And the international orders get bigger and bigger every year we go abroad. We have been getting 30 per cent more buyers coming to place orders every time."

This twice-a-year Paris fair plays host to hundreds of such aspiring traders, who lure foreign buyers by their innovative and traditional designs.
