India & Ivory Coast sign MoU on co-operation in MSMEs

India and the Republic of Cote D'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) have signed an MoU on Co-operation in the field of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) here.
Shri Mahabir Prasad, Union Minister of Small Scale Industries and Agro and Rural Industries signed on behalf of India and Madam Amah Marie TEHOUA, Minister of Industry and Promotion of Private Sector, Government of Ivory Coast signed on behalf of her country.
Both the countries agreed to cooperate in the following areas:
1. Capacity building for developing policy and industrial framework through exchange of experts for the development of MSMEs in Ivory Coast;
2. Carrying out industrial potential surveys and feasibility studies to identify thrust areas and opportunities for development of MSMEs in Ivory Coast;
3. Promoting partnership projects and institution-to-institution and enterprise-to-enterprise co-operation between the two countries;
4. Providing training for improvement of managerial and technical skills for MSMEs;
5. Organising Exhibitions and Trade Fairs in both the countries for marketing of products and small projects; and
6. Exchanging business missions to help initiate technology transfer and sustainable business alliances between the enterprises of both the countries.
Both the Ministers have also agreed to set up a Joint Committee to monitor the implementation of this MoU. India and Ivory Coast have also agreed to regularly exchange information relating to micro, small and medium business enterprises, development opportunities and possibilities of partnerships and to work towards their achievement.
