Industrial exhibition 'Karnataka Kalavaibhava-2007' from Feb 17

A ten day district level industrial exhibition-cum-sale, 'Karnataka Kalavaibhava-2007' is scheduled to be held from Feb 17 to 26 at high school grounds here.
The exhibition is being jointly organised by Department of Industries and Commerce and District Administration, said Deputy Commissioner Dyaberi on Wednesday.
In all 70 shops including 20 khadi and village industries, seven by State Government corporations, 43 by SSI units, women entrepreneurs and artisans will be set up, he said while addressing reporters.
State Government will release Rs.3.5 lakh as grants for the exhibition which is likely to incur an expenditure of Rs4.5 lakh.
Home made products like khadi, cotton, silk, readymade garments, art work, home and cottage industries, condiments, fruit juices, masala eatables, clothes, honey etc will be sold said the Deputy Commissioner.
A one day seminar on 'Future of engineering industries in the context of globalisation' will be held on Feb 17 at 9.30 a m.
Director of Galaxy tools, Bangalore Elango and B D Narayan of Harihar and Prof Y Vrushabendrappa will deliver lectures, he added.
