Woolmark launches its new interior color trends for 2008/09 at the start of the new year to coincide with the round of home textile and floorcovering trade shows that commenced with Heimtextil in Germany, followed by Domotex, Germany and now Surfaces Las Vegas, USA.
This year the main trend in interior design shows a strong and positively modern taste - always in search of novelties. Self-confident and daring, choosing quite unusual combinations and high-tech treatments - even for classic materials and designs.
Interior design and decoration, or simply the creation of new and very special spaces of our own within the home. A natural way of expressing a personal kind of creativity and a profound enjoyment of indoor living.
Color palettes for the season feature rich autumnal tones, often dense and sombre, which are then contrasted with brighter, more luminous shades in surprising combinations. Grey neutrals, white and black form a thread which acts as the backbone for all the color palettes.
The season focuses on new possibilities with an inventive and experimental spirit and textures range from flat, smooth and lustrous, to structured and precise patterns, or uneven, raised surfaces. In terms of floor coverings there are subtle all-over effects or minute relief patterns for carpets, and also lively and unexpected designs for one off pieces.
