The Tamilnadu Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited (THDCL) is holding Crafts Mela – an exhibition until March 3 at Shri Sunderbai Hall, Churchgate, Mumbai.
THDCL help artisans market their products through exhibitions and sales.
Madurai-Sundari cotton sarees, Kurunji Madurai, silk-cotton sarees, handloom silk, Ganga Jamuna, Kachipuram cotton, Hyderabadi silk and cotton, Banarsi woven sarees, meena butti, resham georgette, Kolkata pure cotton sarees ranging from Rs.250 to Rs.5000 are displayed.
Besides sarees, different varieties of bed-sheets, towels, dress materials and ready-made dress, Kanjipuram handloom cotton dress materials, Jaipur handwork kurtas for children as well as adults, Kashmiri tops and dress materials are also showcased.
Apart from textiles wide range of precious stones, crystal articles, wooden articles, Puja items are also displayed.
Wooden furniture – swings, writing tables, wooden special artistic decorative frames Rosewood Inlay work from Mysore, made of different colours of wood, are also put up for display.
