Technical textiles parks should be set up, Mallyah, INDA

Technology Upgradation Scheme (TUFS) should be extended for another 10 years to Nonwoven and technical textile industry to accelerate its growth.

Government should set up atleast six research and technology excellence centres all over India with latest Nonwoven machinery and testing equipments to promote innovations in this field.

Government should bring mandatory use of disposables and geotextiles in the medical field and road construction respectively to promote the growth of Nonwovens and geotextiles.

Government should also bring regulatory measures in Industry an other areas to use protective textile compulsorily to promote the growth of protective textiles like fire retardant textiles.

Government should allow 100 percent FDI in Nonwoven and technical textiles and also encourage foreign collaborations and joint ventures in this field.

With all these above measures in place, India is bound to grow rapidly to compete with China.
