An Italian business delegation is on the visit of Addis Ababa Chamber International Trade Fair between March 2, 2007 and March 5, 2007. Representatives of Italian Institute for Foreign Trade (ICE) are heading the group.
Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi had promised his Ethiopian counterpart Meles Zenawi to send a delegation to the country during a meeting held last month at Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce (AACC). This visit is a symbol of improved bilateral relations among both nations.
Delegation consists of 16 Italian firms and will be touring many local units. It wants to develop contacts and tie ups with domestic companies.
Agriculture, apparel, leather, pharmaceuticals, industrial plants supplying and construction are being considered as potential sectors for bilateral trade.
AACC will arrange a seminar titled 'Creating business opportunities: Investment and trade with Italian companies' during the fair. Tadesse Haile, State Minister for Trade and Industry, will attend the seminar.
