About 200 exhibitors from the country's 16 regions will bring their best micro, small and medium enterprises in the National Trade Fair (NTF), coming March 15-19 at SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City.

Dubbed as the most important domestic trade fair, NTF is a five-day annual event organized by Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) in collaboration with Small and Medium Development (SMED) Group, the regional offices of Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), other government agencies and private sector.

“For many years now, NTF has helped many SMEs, some of them graduated into big enterprises and became major players in the international market.” said Trade Assistant Secretary and CITEM Executive Director Fe Agoncillo-Reyes.

In this year's NTF, 45 exhibitors will showcase fashion accessories, houseware, gifts and home decor. Most exhibitors will come from Central Visayas, followed by the Cagayan Valley region and CALABARZON.

A series of Exhibitors' Advisory Course was conducted in Manila, Baguio and Cebu to equip participants with knowledge from product planning to distribution. Designers from the Product Development and Design Center of the Philippines (PDDCP) worked with some participants from the factory level to come up with innovative designs that fit the buyers' requirements.

Show will highlight the special setting for One Town, One Product (OTOP) Program of Arroyo Administration, that is now gaining investments and creating jobs in the countryside, as well as numerous ideas on processes and applications of bamboo, Manila Palm and coconut by-products, under the Raw Materials Setting.

Last year, NTF recorded 122.19 million pesos of sales, 40 percent of exhibitors received subcontracting offers while 39 percent were offered distributorship by over a thousand trade buyers. The fair also attracted almost 19,000 visitors, these figures are expected to grow this March.
