In January 2007, Consumer Price Index (CPI) declined compared to previous month's index of 102.2 at a rate of 0.2 percent.
Cost of clothing and footwear rose to 6.7 percent as prices of readymade clothing & accessories, materials for male & female, haberdasheries and footwear were high.
Similarly, higher prices of furniture, floor covering, household furnishing, kitchen appliances and utensils, crockery and cutlery and household operation led to surge in cost of household goods, services and operation by 1.8 percent.
However, drop in prices of airfares pulled down transportation cost 0.2 percent.
