Govt to promote works of Kashmiri artisans in other states

He said “if rural people become economically sound, this is the only way to make J&K a prosperous state. He said this type of exhibition should be conducted frequently in every part of the country to provide better marketing facility to our artisans.

Being organized for the Ist time in the state, this Fair will provide a golden opportunity to the rural artisans of various states of the country to exhibit their rural local craftsmanship and will open new horizons of better marketing to them. The products being sold at cheapest rates will provide creation of almost all the traditional local products of every state at the doorsteps of the customer.

The products being exhibited in the fair are wonderful cotton fabric from A.P., Hyderabadi Jewelery, Blue Pottery, Mojries of Rajasthan, Punjabi Phulkari, Lucknow Zari, Carpets of Mazffarpur, Silk from Bangalore, Beed Work and Sarees of Gujarat, Kashmir Handicrafts and other famous handicraft goods.

To make the fair a grand success and yield tangible results the Rural Development Department launched a massive awareness campaign through media for luring the people to visit this marvelous event.

The Nodal Officer of Exhibition, Mrs. Promila Gupta and Publicity Officer, Mr. Rafiq Ahmad gave brief resume of various aspects of the exhibition to the Minister.
