Minh Lang's embroidery becomes popular

Embroidery, at the Minh Lang Commune, Vu Thu District, in the northern province of Thai Binh has become very popular.

Workers here are labouring to create lovely designs and patterns. Not only ladies but men also here are quite enthusiastic to create the craft.

The Director of Thanh Mai Company, Nguyen Thanh Mai who exported embroidery enterprises said that with one high-quality product, a worker can earn up to US $1,000.

The company has about 400 skilled embroiderers and 20 teachers who create new designs and train other workers.

Most embroidery enterprises at Minh Lang have their branches in other districts which create jobs for thousands.

According to Nguyen Van Dam, Chairman of the Commune's Farmers Association, Minh Lang's People have created Committee which in cooperation with other agencies has set up an embroidery association.

The association has around 22 co-operatives and 50 groups.

The association helps to protect the rights of both employers and employees.
