Putting a definite 'global' spin on our two desi fashion weeks has been a top priority for the organisers who have always made it a point to invite the stray international designer to showcase their collections on Indian soil.
This year, for the LFW Autumn Winter 2007 week, huge international labels like French Connection (FCUK), Giovanni Cavagna and if all goes well, Italian fashion house Max Mara will make inroads here!
While not wanting to comment on the participation of Max Mara just yet due to a confidentiality agreement, Anil Chopra, VP Lakme Lever, is buoyant about the participation of FCUK and Giovanni Cavagna, something he sees as a huge boost to Indian fashion.
"We are delighted to have them participate this season, helping make India a vibrant place to do business for buyers and inspiring a global pool of talent."
