Textile City, the first phase of Wuxi Oriental International Light Textile City in Jiangsu Province, started its operation on March 17, 2007.
Oriental International Light Textile City, covering more than one million square meters, settled in Xishan, Wuxi City in 2003. It has been developed with three billion yuan investment by Wenzhou Business Group, who is familiar with operational experience from market.
This development will consist of Textile City, Fashion City, and Leather City, forming three first-level wholesale markets. It will be a modern mega professional trading market for collections of textiles, clothing, and leather products.
The annual turnover of the first phase of the Oriental International Textile City is expected to reach 100 billion yuan. Now lease rate, stationed business rate, and operating rate of the first phase are as high as 100 percent.
At the opening ceremony Oriental International Light Textile City was awarded the title of 'Model of China's key wholesale markets' by China Market Institute and China Market Steering Committee.
