Bangladesh Cotton and Textile Convention to be held in April in Dhaka

A new date for the international cotton conference is set. The conference will be held on 23-24 April 2007 in Dhaka, Bangladesh under the theme: “Opportunities for Increased Trade in Cotton Textiles”.
The political situation in Bangladesh has improved significantly and will allow holding the conference in a safe working environment. All major sponsors and organizers have confirmed their commitment to spare no effort for a successful international cotton and textile convention on April 23-24, 2007.
The conference will be organized by Cotton Bangladesh and the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) in cooperation with Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Bangladesh Knit Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA), Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA), Cotton Outlook and Globecot.
The venue of the conference will be the Dhaka Sheraton Hotel. The two-day convention will include a conference, mill visit and social events.
The conference will focus on the potential for growth in world cotton and textile trade, and investment opportunities for the textile industry. It will also address regional trade flows in cotton and textile products and strategies to cope with increasing competition in textile trade.
Participation in the convention will present an opportunity for companies and organizations to increase their visibility and to showcase their products and services. It is expected thatabout 200 people from a wide number of countries will participate in the convention.
