On 21st March the winners of the Ffres Awards 2007 were announced at the Riverfront Theatre in Newport at a prestigious event entitled Design Futures.
The audience of 270 people from business, design and education gathered to hear the announcement of the Ffres Award winners and listen to presentations by brand guru Wally Olins (Saffron Brand Consultants) and Martin Raymond (The Future Laboratory).
The Ffres Awards are open to undergraduates studying graphic, product, textile or fashion design in Wales and are intended to help prepare students for working in industry by setting competitive real life briefs that are presented to industry professionals. In this way the students are encouraged to develop appropriate professional skills and Design Wales gets the chance to highlight the talent of future designers from Wales.
The reward for the winners of the four design catagories of the Ffres Awards 2007 is a week long work experience trip to the Paris design office of Promostyl taking place in June.
