Textile equipment industry profit swells in 2007

In the fist two months of 2007, sales revenues of 873 enterprises specialized in home textile equipments reached 7.017 billion yuan, up 24.65 percent over the same time last year.
Total profits hit 357 million yuan, an increase of 69.63 percent. Gross margin rate was 15.25 percent, 0.99 percentage points above the corresponding time of last year, rising 0.73 percentage points over the end of the previous year.
Pre-tax profit rate was 5.08 percent, 1.22 percentage points higher than the same time last year, and 0.4 percentage points over the end of the previous year.
The main reason for the increase in gross margins is that the special equipment enterprises are investing in technical innovation in order to meet the needs of their users.
