BASF will be participating at the Techtextil 2007 in Frankfurt from June 12-14 (Hall 3.0, Stand B79). Innovative ideas shaped into actual solutions for technical textiles based on cooperation between BASF and its partners will be shown at the booth.
Self-cleaning technical textiles - One of the highlights at the BASF booth will be the self-cleaning technical textiles. When treated with Mincor TX TT, instead of sticking to the surface, a drop of honey will contract to form a blob and will pearl off, or can be washed off with a sprinkle of water. Mincor TX TT is a finishing system based on nanotechnology that provides better cleaning for technical textiles.
Nanoparticles are firmly embedded in a binder producing a highly structured surface. In combination with fluorocarbon-based auxiliaries, dirt particles are rinsed off more easily with water. Textiles such as café umbrellas, awnings and tents that have been treated with Mincor TX TT need less effort to clean and look new for longer!
E-Textile - Another innovation from BASF: electro conductive textiles (E-Textile). Textiles can be metallized by means of coating, or they can be printed with different patterns to give them the electrical characteristics requested. While making the textile electronic for heating or lighting purposes, the flexibility and easy handling of a textile can be maintained.
