AFL and Dachser join hands to set up India's most global cargo company Kempten/Mumbai. AFL, India's leading logistics & express service provider, has hived off its Cargo division into a joint venture with DACHSER GmbH & Co KG, one of the largest logistics groups in the world.
The new company is called AFL DACHSER Pvt. Ltd., and the partners each have a 50 percent stake. AFL DACHSER will have 495 employees based out of 30 branches in India. It will be headquartered in Mumbai.
The board members of the new Company are AFL chairman and managing director Cyrus Guzder, AFL director Farokh Guzder and Dachser managing directors Bernhard Simon and Thomas Reuter, while Detlev Janik, incumbent 'Global Head - Cargo', AFL, has been appointed CEO of the new joint venture Company. “Dachser is systematically expanding its international logistics network for the benefit of its customers,” says Thomas Reuter, managing director of Dachser Air & Sea Logistics.
“This joint venture means, we can now offer our customers across the globe, direct access to one of the key economic regions of the future. Dachser has already been working in partnership with AFL for over ten years now, and this has helped us to become one of the market leaders,” adds Reuter. The entire region is now being linked even more comprehensively to the global Dachser logistics network.
