Appreciation of Rupee has created several problems for exporters and is a growing concern.

However, experts believe that the real impact of strengthening Rupee will be felt during the April-June period and not before.

Cotton textiles are expected to be hit hard. Industry is concerned that it will most likely not be able to reach the export target of around US $5 billion for the current fiscal.

Analysts say that home textiles will record considerable rise in profits for January-March quarter on the back of increased exports and expansion ventures.

Further, this sector could gain as the retailers look beyond cheap suppliers from countries like Pakistan and Turkey and explore Indian home textile players.

On the other hand, denim and yarn industry may not show such rosy results. Though denim sector continues to improve overseas, domestic sector will suffer from major overcapacity problem.

Denim biggies in India are expected to register a fall of atleast 25 percent, or even over 70 percent.

Industry specialists are not optimistic about this sector and say that the balance may not be achieved anytime soon.
