Norwegian non-governmental organization (NGO), Hand-In-Hand-Uganda (HIHU) has collaborated with the Town Council to set up a US $600,000 or Shs1 billion textile facility in Mukono Town Council. The construction is expected to start soon.
The HIHU Director Aage Bjerke informed that not only will this factory generate employment opportunities, but the organization is also planning to provide occupational training to the youngsters.
"We will fund the project while the town council will avail the land," Bjerke told the media.
The land for the project which will be called 'Getting There' has already been selected and acquired.
