PM exhorts knitwear sector to improve productivity

Knitwear industry of Pakistan has undergone many ups and downs and now it has accelerated its pace in world market.
Assessing the performance of knitwear industry, Shaukat Aziz, Prime Minister, has exhorted production units to impart more training to their workers to increase productivity and exports. He was addressing a meeting in Islamabad.
Happy with the improvement in knitwear export, PM also emphasized the need to review all the process from production to marketing to get unit price up to take advantage of export potential of knitwear sector.
He also pointed out significance of R&D to increase productivity of knitwear.
Speaking about Government's role, he said that Government will establish garment cities in Karachi, Lahore and Faisalabad to promote export of value added garments and help sector grow.
Moreover, a textile city in Karachi is also under consideration. The city would facilitate textile industry in terms of necessary infrastructure.
