Indo Rama Synthetics doubles capacity to 6 lakh tons

Speaking on the inauguration, Mr. Shankarsinh Vaghela, Honorable Union Minister for Textiles, Government of India, said, “The textile ministry is committed to create an enabling and conducive milieu for the Indian textile to modernize and expand capacities, as it constitutes the 'backbone' of our manufacturing sector. It is heartening to see an upsurge in investments in this sector, which has been made possible by the commitment of the industry players and the proactive policies of the Government. Indo Rama's commitment towards the textile industry is commendable. This expansion which makes Indo Rama's plant one of the largest single location units in the world is an achievement for the Indian textile industry as well.”

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. O.P. Lohia, Chairman and Managing Director, Indo Rama Synthetics (India) Ltd. said, “It gives me immense pride to share this dais with the Honorable Chief Minister of Maharashtra who has formally inaugurated the new expanded facility. This expansion marks a significant landmark for the company and will further strengthen Indo Rama's market dominance. The expansion has doubled our capacity to 6 lakh metric tonnes. This achievement would not have been possible without the support extended to us by the Government of Maharashtra and the Government of India. We appreciate their support and efforts to realize the true potential of the textile sector.”

The new state-of-the-art; totally automated plant will assistIndo Rama in facing the buoyant market conditions and emerge a leader in the man-made fiber industry. As part of the expansion process, the Butibori plant has now doubled its capacity of both PSF and PFY.

The expansion has been executed in alliance with Zimmer AG, a leading technology provider from Germany. With the increased capacity, the Butibori plant now produces 6, 00,000 metric tonnes of PSF, POY, FDY, DTY and fiber grade chips. The Butibori plant has collaboration agreements with E.I. Dupont, USA and Toyobo of Japan and manufactures Polyester Staple Fiber (PSF) and Partially Oriented Yarn (POY). The expansion was completed with a project cost of Rs. 900 crores over a period of 2.5 years.
