Garment and clothing manufacturing sector is facing acute shortage of skilled workforce. And now government is taking aggressive steps to cope with this problem.

Vocational and training centres, especially for women, are popping up all over the country. These courses train potentials in technical aspects so that they can utilize their skills to earn a reasonable living.

Together, 6 Tehsils of Rawalpindi house over 140 such training workshops that have the capacity to tutor sizeable number of learners.

With nominal fee between the range of Rs50 and Rs150, students can polish their abilities in the fields of handicrafts, tailoring, textile printing, embroidery, designing, jewelry making, interior decoration, computers and so on.

This initiative is generating employment for even the uneducated and creating jobs for the rural community.
