Yangon, the capital of Myanmar will hold an exhibition of small and medium entrepreneurs (SME) from India, on November 25 in order to encourage the bilateral trade and cooperation between the two countries.
According to the Indo-Myanmar Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CCI), idea behind this exhibition is to invite Indian entrepreneurs to invest in Myanmar.
In past few years trade and economic relations between Myanmar and India have been growing with cooperation in all sectors.
Statistics reveals that bilateral trade of the two country has touched US $650 million during the fiscal year 2006-07 which ended in March, up from $557.68 million in 2005-06.
India is the fourth largest trading partner of Myanmar after Thailand, China and Singapore and second largest export market after Thailand, absorbing 25 percent of its total exports.
India has invested around $35.08 million in three projects from September 2006 out of Myanmar's total foreign investment of $14.4 billion since late 1988.
