Industrial production up by 12.9% in latest quarter

The seasonally adjusted volume of industrial production for manufacturing industries for the three month period January to March 2007 was up 12.9% on the preceding three month period.
On an annual basis production for All Industries in March 2007 was 9.8% higher than in March 2006. The “Modern” Sector, comprising a number of high-technology and chemical sectors, showed an annual increase in production for March 2007 of 12.1%, while an increase of 4.4% was recorded in the “Traditional” Sector.
The seasonally adjusted industrial turnover for manufacturing industries was 11.7% higher in the three month period January to March 2007 when compared with the preceding three month period. On an annual basis turnover in March 2007 was 8.5% higher than in March 2006.
