Humayun urges Italy to back EU-Pak FTA

Federal Minister of Commerce Humayun Akhtar Khan is currently in Italy to campaign for the Pakistan-EU FTA.

Reportedly, Minister held talks, individually, with Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Massimo D'Alema and the Minister for International Trade and European Policies, Emma Bonino and discussed bilateral trade and economic issues.

Akhtar Khan also met with several major exporters of textile machinery to Pakistan.

He acknowledged the support of Italy and called for the country to continue backing Pakistan in its stages of development.

Khan said that the member EU countries should favor the FTA and urge both sides for speedy conclusion of the pact.

Meanwhile, Massimo D'Alema, expressed enthusiasm regarding his official visit to Pakistan, which will further strengthen cooperation and boost trade among the countries.

He also stressed that FTA was definitely mutually beneficial to both countries.
