Textile material output grows in 2007

In the first four months of 2007, Chinese textile industry produced a total of around 7.3 million tons of chemical fibre, a rise of 17.2 percent than the same period of last year. Among all spandex output reached about 35 thousand tons, with a growth of 34.54 percent.

The yarn output was 5.7 million tons, up 20.42 percent than the same period of last year.

Output of cotton, mixed yarn and chemical-fibre yarn stood at 4.5 million tons, 77590 tons and 442614 tons, with a boost of was 21.47 percent, 14.42 percent and 20.84 percent, respectively.

The cotton cloth production was 14482.26 million meters, improving 11.54 percent. The ramie cloth output was more than 38 million meters, with a rise of 39.55 percent. The linen cloth production was 31.9 million meters, up 22.11 percent.

Silk output was 52530 tons, with a rise of 8.51 percent and the non-woven cloth production reached 182029 tons, a surge of 0.01 percent.

The clothing total output was 5537.27 million pieces, 14.46 percent over the same period of last year.
