Shri Ashwani Kumar, Minister of State for Industry in a meeting with Mr. Salaheddine Mezouar, Minister of Industry, Trade and Economy Upgrading of Morocco at Rabat yesterday, emphasised the fields of aeronautics, information technology, automobiles, pharmaceuticals, textiles, tourism and infrastructure as the most prospective areas of joint cooperation and partnership between India and Morocco.

“In the present day world of globalisation, strategic geographical location of Morocco and its extant FTA agreements with several countries, offer substantial opportunities for enhancement of trade exchanges as well as joint ventures which can eventually be utilised for export to American, European, Arab and African markets.”, Shri Kumar said.

The Moroccan Minister expressed his appreciation of the growing presence of Indian companies in Morocco and highlighted the recent agreement signed by Morocco with Tata Consultancy Services to establish an off-shoring delivery centre and a project to impart national training and e-governance.

He also stressed that both countries should intensify their exchanges and work together for mutual benefit of both the nations.

Shri Ashwani Kumar is on a visit to Morocco to participate in the Symposium on 'South-South Cooperation in the fields of energy and industry – challenges and opportunities'.
