de KENNER's 'Destination Design' brings out best in you!

Turn your passion for fashion into an amazing breakthrough in the world of fashion by joining the “Destination Design” competition organised by the prestigious home brand, de KENNER.

More than just a competition, “Destination Design”, which is de KENNER's initial Corporate Social responsibility (CSR) programme, aims to provide designers with a great platform to gain exposure in the highly-competitive fashion industry.

Additionally, de KENNER will be offering a one year fashion designing contract to the top three winners of this competition. These winners would also be given the opportunity to have their own clothing label at de KENNER's boutique.

Mr Mohammed Usama Yunoos, Managing Director of de KENNER, said “The Malaysian fashion community has shown very strong talent and it is our intention to have the “Destination Design” as another platform for these artistic individuals who may not have the resources or know-how to showcase their creativity.

“We do hope with this competition we will play a vital part in contributing to the growth of Malaysian fashion by identifying and promoting new talent,” Usama added.

Adding a sprinkle of magic dust at the event would be Miss Sri Lanka 2006, Raffella Dannielle Kerkoven, who will be modeling some of the designers outfits at the finale, coupled with an auction of a custom designer dress by Brian Kerkoven.

These, however, are only a few of the many exciting aspects of “Destination Design”. de KENNER also intends to make this an annual event, which will be a boon for not only the fashion industry.

At the end of the two-month competition, eight finalists will be selected to produce a line of outfits for the finals, which will also be up for a hi-tea charity auction that will be held on the 4th of August 2007.

“Destination Design”, which is the first of its kind to be held in the country, is open to all Malaysians above 18 years old as well as PR holders. Established designers are not be eligible.
