Now in its sixteenth year, Graduate Fashion Week remains the definitive place to spot the hottest young fashion and design talent around.
At this year's event, more than a thousand of the finest fashion students from 48 universities across the UK will be competing for the coveted River Island Gold Award and its life changing £20,000 prize.
“At River Island we are committed to supporting new and exciting creative talent. This is perhaps most evident in our continuing support of GFW. We're now into our third year of GFW sponsorship, and have been most impressed by the standard and dedication from the students and feel proud that these individuals are the future of British fashion”.
NEW STAR JUDGES: River Island MD Richard Bradbury will be joined by US Harpers Bazaar editor-in-chief, Glenda Bailey and Lanvin Artistic Director, Alber Elbaz to judge the River Island Gold Award, now the most significant and prestigious prize for Graduate Fashion in UK fashion education. We also welcome an extra special additional judge to the panel – Victoria Beckham.
The River Island Gold Award hopes to help the winning graduate launch a successful career for themselves in the industry, providing a unique support network from the GFW Mentoring Panel (which is offered to all winners), a year's membership to the London Apparel Resource Centre and a year's subscription to Sportswear International.
NEW RIVER ISLAND GOLD AWARD FORMAT: This year in addition to the River Island Gold Award, judges will also select a menswear and a womenswear award winner.
