Government has recently announced imposition of import license on 9 categories of textile products including knit clothes and woolen garments. This new policy will come into effect from around June 10, 2007.

Under this rule the concerned traders are required to apply for the import license, which will be valid for 60 days.

Statistics show that around 60 percent of the anti-dumping measures have been levied on Chinese products by developing countries.

For instance, in order to limit Chinese textile products, Brazil increased import tax of clothing and shoes from 20 to 35 percent, which will officially executed in June, this year.

Argentina government is planning to hold a special meeting with China to assess and strengthen trade relations between the two nations.
