Rieter celebrates opening of new production facilities in China

Currently more than 500 people are employed in Changzhou, making the company one of the pillars in the local community of Western companies. In Changzhou Rieter invested more than RMB 50 million into its new facilities.

New multi-purpose facilities in Changzhou : The new facilities in Changzhou consist of a two storey workshop building for assembly and production, attached to it is a new office building with four floors, thereby increasing the totally available space to more than 23'000m2.

Additionally, a sheet metal workshop with state of the art machines, including a powder painting line is now operational too. To provide Rieter's customers for textile systems with in-depth information about its machines and their technology a showroom has been setup, displaying all major products of Rieter's Textile Division: from blowroom to carding, drawframes and end-spinning machines. Additionally, the showroom will be utilized for spinning trials and customer training, as well as Rieter internal training.

These new facilities in Changzhou allow Rieter a further increase of the production capacity, ensure flexible and fast reactions to market demands, ensure the quality of its local products and allow an intensified contact with the customers.

Formal opening ceremony : The inauguration ceremony for the new Changzhou facilities on May 31st started with a press conference and continued with the actual opening ceremony.

More than 300 guestswere welcomed: VIPs from the authorities, customers and Rieter to celebrate this milestone in the development of Rieter's long-lasting activities in China. On June 1st to June 3rd Rieter Changzhou opened its doors to show customers its facilities and discuss their needs and questions with Rieter specialists from Sales, Product Management and Research & Development.

Rieter continues to expand business in China : With these investments in Changzhou Rieter shows its conviction of a bright future for the Chinese textile market. In the words of Sigi Foehn, CEO of Rieter Textile Systems China: “We are convinced that the Chinese market needs high quality and high production machinery for top end products and we can serve the market with the right products.” Rieter made sure during the opening ceremony that it will continue to invest in China.
