In the first quarter of this year, Sichuan Province imported 495 tons of Titanium Dioxide, worth of US $1.05 million, down 25 percent and 17.7 percent, respectively, from the same period last year.
Sichuan Province exported 11,000 tons of titanium white powder, worth of $18.73 million in the same period, increasing 75 percent and 73.7 percent, respectively. This figure accounted for 24.3 percent and 27.4 percent of the national total exports in volume and amount, respectively.
The rapid export growth of the first quarter is mainly due to the results of technological transformation by Sichuan production enterprises.
It has obviously improved product quality and international competitiveness. This has also resulted in production expansion and export ability while meeting the demand from the domestic market.
