Jun '07
According to the chemical fiber supply and demand statistics from Textile Trade Association, China produced 9,320 tons of nylon-filament in April 2007, a drop of 221 tons or 2.31 percent from the previous month.

This also represented a decrease of 1,665 tons, or 15.15 percent from the same period of last year.

Driven by increased demand from the downstream industries, sales volume enlarged over the previous month to overall growth of 778 tons or 7.92 percent. However, figure reflected a fall of 795 tons or 6.97 percent from the same period last year.

Inventory declined due to reduced yields. Inventory for the month dropped 1,249 tons or 11.91 percent from the previous month, and reduced 2,399 tons, or 20.61 percent from the same time last year.

Production and marketing rate climbed 10.79 percent from March and 9.99 percent over the same period last year. Inventory level lowered 10.80 percent from previous month and 6.82 percent from year-on-year level.

According to the China Textile Trade Association, nylon filament sales for the month mainly concentrated in Guangdong, Zhejiang, Shandong, Jiangsu, and overseas markets.

Among them, Guangdong, Zhejiang, and overseas destinations were top markets for nylon-filament.

Guangdong's consumption was 190 tons higher than March, a boost of 7.12 percent. Demand in Zhejiang surged 602 tons over March, up 39.86 percent.
