According to Ningbo Customs statistics, Zhejiang textiles and clothing exports in January to April totaled US $9.66 billion, an increase of 18.8 percent over the same period last year.
Of which, textile yarn, fabric and manufactured goods exports reached $4.66 billion, garment and clothing accessories exports scored $5 billion, up 19 percent and 18.6 percent, respectively over the previous year.
Within the total numbers, general trade exports were $8.33 billion, a boost of 16.7 percent over the same period last year. Processing trade exports were $1.31 billion, a growth of 34.1 percent.
Exports to the EU, the US and Japan stood at $2.32 billion, $1.61 billion and $780 million, respectively.
An analysis points out that with the full implementation by June 1 of the EU 'system of chemicals registration, evaluation, authorization and restriction', Zhejiang's future textile exports to the EU will face increasing pressure.
